Trump says the Renaissance Dam has left the Nile without water
He claims the dam was built with American money; Ethiopia firmly rejects that.

Ahram Online reports that US President Donald Trump has again criticised Ethiopia’s Grand Renaissance Dam, saying it has left the Nile without water.
Trump said one of the world’s largest dams, built in Ethiopia, had been financed with American money and was taking all the water from the Nile. If you are Egyptian, it is not good for the Nile to have no water, but I am working on it, he added.
It is not the first time the president has spoken this way; he raised the dam during the closing period of his first term as well.
Ethiopia maintains that the dam was built entirely at the expense of the Ethiopian people, and rejects the claim that the Nile has run dry, saying the flow downstream has not stopped while the dam generates power. Egypt, for its part, regards the dam as a serious threat to its water supply.
