Israel's foreign ministry says it is working to evacuate about 20 Israelis stranded in Lalibela

Flights are cancelled and the town's fuel, food and cash are running low after Tigray forces seized regional airports, the Times of Israel reported.

The Times of Israel reported that Israel's foreign ministry is working with other agencies to evacuate about 20 of its citizens stranded in Lalibela. Flights have been cancelled after Tigray forces seized airports in the region, and the town's fuel, food and cash are running short.

Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is leading efforts to evacuate about 20 Israeli citizens stranded in the northern Ethiopian town of Lalibela. The Times of Israel reported on 27 September that flights had been cancelled indefinitely after Tigray forces seized airports in the region, and that those stranded said the town's stocks of fuel, food and cash were extremely limited. The ministry said it was continuously examining the options for leaving the area in cooperation with local parties and in line with security conditions on the ground.
