Sudan Tribune: RSF takes $4 a barrel from South Sudan oil exports

The paper, citing sources, says the RSF collects transit fees on oil crossing the Heglig field it seized in December 2025.

Sudan Tribune reported, citing sources, that the RSF collects four dollars a barrel in transit fees on South Sudanese oil passing through the Heglig field it took over on 8 December 2025, with South Sudan's payment falling from 11 to seven dollars a barrel and the difference going to the RSF.

Sudan Tribune reported on 27 September, citing sources, that the Rapid Support Forces collect four dollars a barrel in transit fees on South Sudanese oil passing through the Heglig oil field, which the RSF took over on 8 December 2025. According to those sources, South Sudan's payment fell from 11 dollars a barrel to seven dollars, with the four-dollar difference going to the RSF. Former oil minister Adil Ali Ibrahim said Heglig crude is exported through the same pipeline system that carries South Sudan's oil, but that those sales do not appear in the Sudanese central bank's revenue records.
