AFP reported that a drone hit the headquarters of Tigrai TV in Mekelle on Sunday 27 September, damaging the building's facade, blowing out windows and taking the station off air. No casualties were immediately reported. It was not immediately clear who operated the drone. The Ethiopian Media Authority had suspended the station indefinitely on 21 September.

AFP reported that a drone hit the headquarters of Tigrai TV in Mekelle on Sunday 27 September. The building's facade was damaged and blackened, numerous windows were blown out and the station was taken off air. No casualties were immediately reported. A journalist at the station told AFP: "We heard a loud bang from a drone strike elsewhere and we fled the building." It was not immediately clear who operated the drone and responsibility for the strike has not been established. The Ethiopian Media Authority suspended Tigrai TV indefinitely on 21 September, citing alleged breaches of media law, and barred other outlets from carrying its reports.
