Tigray TV says Tigrayan fighters ambushed federal forces twice in the Kola Tembien mountains; the claim is unverified
Tigray TV placed the two attacks near Yechila and Finarwa, south-east of Mekelle. The account comes from a party to the conflict.

Tigray TV said Tigray Defence Forces fighters carried out two ambushes against Ethiopian federal forces in the Kola Tembien mountains on 12 October, near Yechila and Finarwa. The Critical Threats Project said the claim comes from a party to the conflict and is not independently confirmed.
The Critical Threats Project said in its 13 October war review that TPLF-affiliated media claimed Tigray Defence Forces fighters carried out two ambushes against Ethiopian federal forces in the Kola Tembien mountains on 12 October.
Tigray TV said the two attacks took place about 16km apart, one near Yechila in Central Tigray zone and the other near Finarwa in Southern Tigray zone. The review said the villages lie roughly 56 to 64km south-east of Mekelle, in areas federal forces have not taken.
The account comes from a party to the conflict and has not been independently verified. Federal forces and their allies have advanced across Tigray over the past week, and a pro-government militia said on Tuesday that the TPLF was no longer in a position to stand and fight.
