Isaias and el-Sisi hold extensive talks at New Alamein, Eritrea's Information Ministry says
The ministry says Isaias underlined the convergent positions of Eritrea and Egypt on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations and non-interference in their internal affairs, and that el-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's readiness to deepen bilateral ties.

Egypt's presidency said President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's support for Eritrea's security, stability and sovereignty in his talks with Isaias Afwerki at New Alamein on Saturday. Presidential spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said el-Sisi rejected any violation of state sovereignty or territorial integrity in breach of international law, and stressed continued coordination with Eritrea on stability in the Horn of Africa and security in the Red Sea. Isaias said Egypt and Eritrea held broadly aligned views on regional developments, particularly on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs. Eritrea's Ministry of Information said President Isaias Afwerki and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held extensive talks in New Alamein City on Saturday on the enhancement of bilateral ties, regional and international developments and trends, and other matters of mutual interest.
The ministry said President Isaias underlined the convergent positions of Eritrea and Egypt on regional matters, especially in regard to the cardinal principles of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations and non-interference in their internal affairs. It said he further expressed appreciation for President el-Sisi's efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors, and for Egypt's goodwill and readiness to bolster these ties for the benefit of both peoples and countries.
President el-Sisi, for his part, invoked the profound historical and strategic ties between the two countries and reaffirmed Egypt's readiness to further deepen the prevailing warm bilateral ties through the implementation of projects and programmes of economic partnership in priority sectors, according to the statement.
The ministry said President Isaias will take part in the Summit of Heads of State on collective security, stability and partnership to be convened in Alamein on Sunday.
