Ghana to restrict raw mineral exports
President John Dramani Mahama says the plan runs to 2030 and will help expand industrial output.

Ghana has announced it will restrict exports of unprocessed minerals in order to develop domestic production.
President John Dramani Mahama said the plan, to be implemented by 2030, will help raise industrial output.
He said unprocessed iron, lithium, bauxite and manganese are among the minerals prioritised for restriction.
As part of the plan, the country will expand the infrastructure and technology needed to process minerals. Ghana ranks first in Africa and sixth in the world for gold production.
