US and Israel said to be preparing an operation against Iran
The New York Times reports the two are preparing a short but highly destructive military operation.

According to a new report by The New York Times, the United States and Israel are drawing up detailed plans for another military strike on Iran after the US midterm elections scheduled for 3 November.
Citing US officials and other sources familiar with the matter, the paper said the two countries have intensified preparations for what they describe as a short but highly destructive operation.
Among the sites named as likely primary targets are Iran’s electricity generation plants, nuclear facilities and missile and drone depots.
Sources warned that the next heavy round of strikes would be a dangerous step that could paralyse Iran’s economy entirely and force the country to accept diplomatic terms. The report also noted that Trump could change his mind at any moment.
