Ethiopia's National Rehabilitation Commission names nine reception points in Tigray, calling it a final opportunity for TPLF combatants
Deputy Commissioner Brigadier General Derbie Mekuriaw said the government, the defence force and the commission are ready to receive combatants, and accused a faction within the TPLF of obstructing the process.

Dawan Africa said the Tigray Peace Force issued a statement on Saturday, attributed to its Central Command in Mekelle, urging TPLF fighters still in the conflict to lay down their weapons and surrender. It said the statement promised that those who surrender voluntarily would be treated with dignity and "will not face retaliation", and offered personal safety and legal protection, conditional amnesty, help reuniting with families, and food, water, shelter and medical care. It said professional soldiers who meet the required criteria could be considered for positions in what the statement calls legitimate peace and security institutions. Dawan said the statement named no individual spokesperson, gave little detail on who would oversee disarmament and reintegration, and that it had no TPLF response.

Ethiopia's National Rehabilitation Commission has designated reception points across Tigray for combatants who want to leave the fighting and join the disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration process. The Ethiopian News Agency said Deputy Commissioner Brigadier General Derbie Mekuriaw affirmed that the process is tied to the Pretoria peace agreement, and accused a faction within the TPLF of undermining the agreement and obstructing the rehabilitation process. He described it as a final opportunity for TPLF leaders, commanders and combatants.
The reception points named are Maichew and Mehoni in the Southern Zone, Mekelle in the Southeastern Zone, Adigrat and Wukro in the Eastern Zone, Adwa, Axum and Abi Adi in the Central Zone, and Shire in the Northwestern Zone.
The commission said combatants who cannot reach a reception point may telephone the relevant authorities for guidance. It said those accused of crimes would face accountability procedures, while others would be assessed through established mechanisms, with their identities and military status verified. Natna News found no response from the TPLF to the announcement.
