Ethiopian Airlines to resume Mekelle flights on Sunday
Service restarts on 11 October after a three-week suspension, and bookings have already opened.

Ethiopian Airlines says scheduled passenger flights between Addis Ababa and Mekelle will resume on Sunday 11 October 2026.
The national carrier confirmed the decision on Friday 9 October and said tickets were on sale.
The airline had suspended flights to Mekelle, Aksum and Shire from 23 September, after TPLF forces took control of the airports.
Alula Aba Nega airport was taken by federal forces at the start of October. Tension between federal forces, the TPLF and what Ethiopia says are Eritrean troops in the region has not eased, and security there remains fragile.
