Russia and Iran say their strategic treaty is bearing fruit
Trade between them is up by more than 20 per cent; Putin says Moscow can help end the war on Iran.

Russia and Iran say the comprehensive strategic co-operation treaty they signed early last year is producing positive results.
Meeting in Turkmenistan on 8 October, the two leaders said trade between their countries rose by more than 20 per cent over the past year, and that commercial activity had continued to grow over the past eight months.
President Vladimir Putin and President Masoud Pezeshkian said agreements reached not only on the economy but also on security and other areas were being implemented in order of priority.
Putin added that Russia would play its part in bringing the war on Iran to a peaceful end. Saying the war had created problems not only for the Middle East but worldwide, he urged the United States and Iran to work to end it through talks.
