China and the EU hold fresh talks to narrow trade differences
Trade topped $860bn in 2025, and both sides aim for about one trillion this year.

China and the European Union held another round of consultations on 9 October aimed at narrowing their trade differences.
The talks, held in China, focused on improving trade relations and on managing tariff levels and investment, officials said.
The two sides have held repeated rounds of talks to ease the trade friction caused by tariffs, including at the end of June.
They said trade between them exceeded $860bn in 2025 and that they plan to lift the figure to about one trillion dollars this year. The EU is one of China’s largest trading partners.
