Russian oil returns to world markets
Washington has waived its sanctions until April 2027 following the Putin–Trump agreement.

Russian oil products have begun selling on world markets again following an agreement reached between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump.
In a telephone conversation on 9 October, the two leaders agreed that Russia would supply oil to world markets and to the United States.
Under the agreement, Russia is to release 300,000 tonnes of diesel onto world markets this month, 500,000 tonnes next month and one million tonnes in December.
As part of the deal, the US Treasury has suspended the sanctions it had maintained on Russian oil exports until April 2027 and issued a temporary licence covering the sales process. The move is expected to have a stabilising effect on global markets and on the Russian economy.
