OPEC says oil demand growth has fallen by 71 per cent
Down from 1.4 million barrels a day to 400,000.

Growth in oil demand that had been forecast to reach about 1.4 million barrels a day in 2026 has fallen to 400,000 barrels, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries has said.
The figure represents a 71 per cent drop on the earlier estimate, the organisation said.
Low investment in the energy sector, together with the security and military crisis in the Middle East and in Europe, were cited as causes.
Analysts estimate that demand growth could rise to 1.7 million barrels a day in 2027.
Reports put the price of crude on world markets at 100 dollars a barrel.
