Heavy cargo flights into Eritrea, Sudan and Ethiopia
A Belarusian IL-76 was seen at Massawa on 4 October, and UAE flights to Ethiopia continue.

Eritrea, Sudan and Ethiopia are all receiving a high volume of heavy cargo flights, according to open-source tracking.
On 4 October a Rubystar cargo aircraft from Belarus was seen at Massawa international airport, the analyst Reach Ted, who tracks flights in East Africa, wrote on X.
He also reported that the Sudanese army had received seven cargo aircraft from Turkey since 8 October, and that Egyptian and Russian aircraft had made repeated runs into Port Sudan.
Flights from the UAE’s Al Ain airport to Bole in Addis Ababa were recorded repeatedly on 8 and 9 October. Yared Tesfay, head of public relations at the Eritrean embassy in Britain, said the UAE is playing a harmful role across the Horn of Africa.
