China hit by a setback in its electric vehicle exports
The European Union wants the number of vehicles shipped to its markets reduced.

China says its electric vehicle production has run into economic difficulty because of its trade dispute with the European Union.
The announcement follows the bloc's call for China to cap the number of electric vehicles it ships to European markets.
China said it has produced some 7.5 billion dollars' worth in the sector. The European Union has asked that exports of the vehicles be cut to 15 per cent.
China's foreign ministry, saying the demand would damage trade relations between the two sides, signalled in advance that Beijing opposes it.
The EU says its trade with China in 2025 left it with a deficit of more than 410 billion dollars. The two sides are reported to have traded about 800 billion dollars' worth of goods in 2025.
