Drone attacks on civilians mount across Sudan
Forty-one killed at Abu Shandi and more than 80 at El Debab.

The death toll from a drone strike on Friday at Abu Shandi, in Sudan’s Blue Nile state near the Ethiopian border, has reached 41. Those killed were civilians who had fled the fighting and were sheltering in the area.
The rights group Emergency Lawyers said eight children were among the dead.
On Sunday, a drone strike on the town of El Debab in West Kordofan state killed at least 80 people. A medical source said 47 wounded were taken to Al Muglad and that about 30 of them did not survive.
The United Nations said it condemns the rising number of lethal drone attacks across Sudan. The spokesman for the secretary-general, Stephane Dujarric, said at least 19 people including 10 children were killed late last week in West Darfur, South Kordofan and North Kordofan.
Aid agencies have criticised the international response, saying it has gone no further than statements.
