Somalia’s president and the UK envoy discuss security
Ambassador Charles King confirms British support for humanitarian aid and stabilisation.

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the British ambassador, Charles King, have agreed to strengthen co-operation on security, humanitarian preparedness and political stability.
In a post on X, Ambassador King said the talks focused on the partnership between the two countries and their shared priorities.
The humanitarian crisis caused by drought, flooding and displacement in Somalia is a major concern, and the meeting also looked at delivering urgent relief.
Britain’s support for strengthening Somali security institutions and countering external threats will continue, officials said.
