Sisi asks parliament to authorise military support for Saudi Arabia
He wants an emergency session so Egyptian forces can act if Riyadh requests help.

Egypt’s president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, has asked the country’s parliament for authority to provide military support to Saudi Arabia, Reuters reported.
He raised the question while presenting a plan by Egypt’s main military academy to train future national leaders within 30 months.
If Riyadh makes a request for assistance, Sisi said, an emergency session of parliament should be held to give Egyptian forces the authority to help.
The Egyptian presidency said the country is ready to provide whatever is needed to protect Saudi Arabia’s security, stability and territorial integrity.
Parliament is expected to meet on the matter on 26 October. The move comes as attacks on Saudi Arabia by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi fighters continue to increase.
