The UK branch of the National Union of Eritrean Women held its annual review of activities in London, with 130 delegates from sub-branches taking part.
In his opening remarks, the chargé d’affaires of the Eritrean embassy in the UK and Ireland said awareness and organisation are the strongest weapons, and urged better work in that area.
Teweldeh Yohannes, head of public and community affairs, briefed the meeting on the situation in the country and the region, and said delegates were expected to carry out a serious review and set out next year’s programmes.
In her report the branch chairwoman said 2026 had seen commendable work in raising members’ capacity and awareness, expanding the organisation, recruiting young people, strengthening public diplomacy and completing the Mendefera training centre project.
