US and EU envoys hold talks on Eritrea and Ethiopia
Massad Boulos and Annette Weber discussed the Sudan crisis and Eritrea–Ethiopia tensions, reports say.

Massad Boulos, senior adviser to President Trump on Arab and African affairs, said he met the European Union’s special representative for the Horn of Africa, Annette Weber, for in-depth talks on joint diplomatic efforts to bring peace and stability to the region.
Boulos said on X that the talks focused first on the deepening crisis in Sudan, and also addressed the Ethiopia–Eritrea confrontation, which has reached a peak.
The EU, as a member of the five-party group on Sudan, is said to be making an important contribution to preparing a civilian dialogue platform in which the Sudanese people can resolve their own problems.
Analysts say the meeting shows Western powers continuing their preventive diplomacy to stop another destructive conflict erupting in the region.
