TPLF warns Ethiopian Airlines over military airlifts
It says it will treat the airline’s aircraft as military targets unless the flights stop.

The Tigray People’s Liberation Front has warned that it may strike the Prosperity Party and Ethiopian Airlines over the use of Mekelle international airport for military purposes.
The warning follows what it says is confirmed evidence that Ethiopian Airlines is using large cargo aircraft to move federal troops and logistics to Mekelle.
In its statement the TPLF said using a civil airline as an instrument against the people of Tigray is contrary to international law, and warned that unless the practice stops shortly it will bring the airline’s aircraft within its military targets.
Many observers agree the practice is a clear breach of international law and should be examined in international forums.
Ethiopian Airlines has not responded publicly.
