Tigray forces say 1,511 federal troops killed in two days
The TPLF says a further 1,050 were wounded in fighting in northern Tigray.

Tigray forces led by the TPLF say they killed 1,511 federal soldiers and wounded 1,050 others in two days of fighting in northern Tigray on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.
The figures were given by a senior TPLF official, Negash Hiluf, according to the Anadlu news site.
The group also said that late last week, in central Tigray, it halted a federal advance towards the town of Adet.
It added that it killed 11 members of the Tigray Peace Force, an armed group fighting alongside federal troops.
The claims have not been independently verified, and the federal government has not responded publicly.
