Demonstrations were held in Gondar, Sekota, Debre Tabor, Woldia and Genda Wuha.

Public rallies in support of the national defence force have been held in towns across the Amhara region.

The demonstrations have taken place in Gondar, Sekota, Debre Tabor, Woldia, Genda Wuha and other towns.

Organisers said the aim is to support the army in its efforts to strengthen national unity and sovereignty.

Elders, religious leaders, young people and other sections of society took part, chanting a range of slogans.
