Diplomats in Asmara speak out on Ethiopia-Eritrea tension
They say no violation of Eritrea’s sovereign rights can be permitted.

Representatives of a number of countries based in Asmara have said that igniting further conflict in the Horn of Africa would be a clear threat to international peace and security.
The envoys of the United States, Britain, France and other European states, together with representatives of African and regional bodies, said sovereignty and national unity are the cornerstone of international relations.
A violation committed against one member of the international community, they added, creates pressure on all member states under international law.
The comments were made in connection with their meeting with Eritrea’s foreign minister on current developments in the Horn of Africa.
On 15 October, Minister Osman Saleh briefed the diplomatic community on violations of Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and their effect on regional peace.
