Tigray Peace Force declares a night curfew in Mekelle
Movement is barred from 8pm to 6am. No interim civil administration has been formed yet, AP reports.

With TPLF forces withdrawn from Mekelle and no civil administration yet in place, the Tigray Peace Force (TPF) says it has imposed an evening curfew in the regional capital.
The measure, in force since Wednesday 7 October 2026, bars movement between 8pm and 6am, the Associated Press reports.
Although military control has changed hands, normal public administration had not resumed as of Thursday 8 October. AP says police stations, district offices and the mayor’s office remain closed.
TPF commander Ermias Ababu told AP that his forces are working with the national defence force to extend their control across Tigray.
