Eritrea and the UN strengthen co-operation in technology
The UN says it is working with Eritrea on artificial intelligence and the country’s development story.

At a forum held to mark United Nations Day under the theme of artificial intelligence and Eritrea’s development story, the UN resident coordinator in Eritrea, Nahla Valji, set out the organisation’s plans.
She said the UN has begun work on substantial technological support, aligned with the development priorities of the Eritrean government.
Artificial intelligence matters, she said, but it accelerates development only when it is grounded in human dignity, national priorities and local realities.
The forum held wide-ranging discussions on building capacity, strengthening visibility and shaping the future.
Eritrea and the UN are also engaged in broad co-operation on capacity development, health and education.
