Egypt's foreign ministry spokesman Nader Zaki said on Tuesday that Egyptian policy rests on respect for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of other states and on staying out of their internal affairs, and that claims to the contrary had no basis in fact. Egyptian Streets reported that Zaki did not name Ethiopia and did not address the accusation directly.

Al Jazeera reported on 29 September that Egypt's foreign ministry spokesman Nader Zaki said Egyptian policy rests on "full respect for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of states, and noninterference in the internal affairs of other countries", and that Cairo "rejects any practices that would undermine regional security and stability". Al Jazeera said Eritrea, Sudan and Egypt had all rejected the accusations made by Ethiopia's army chief, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, who called the three countries Ethiopia's "historical and contemporary adversaries". The claims could not be independently verified.

Sudan Tribune reported that Sudan's army spokesman, Asim Awad Abdelwahab, rejected Ethiopian claims that Khartoum backs the armed alliance fighting Ethiopia's federal government, saying the Armed Forces "confirm their categorical rejection of these claims and consider them baseless accusations". He said the Rapid Support Forces had received support from Ethiopian territory, including training, logistics and the launch of strategic and kamikaze drones against Sudan. Separately, Asharq Al-Awsat quoted an informed Egyptian source calling Ethiopia's insinuations "allegations that do not merit a response". Neither side's claims could be independently verified.
