የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት ዐቢይ አሕመድን በጠቅላይ ሚኒስትርነት መልሶ መረጠ፤ ለአምስት ዓመት የሥልጣን ዘመን ቃለ መሐላ ፈጸሙ፤ አሕመድ ሺዴ አፈ ጉባኤ ሆነው ተመረጡ
ምርጫው በሙሉ ድምፅ መፈጸሙን ፋና ብሮድካስቲንግ ኮርፖሬት ገልጿል፤ በሰባተኛው የምክር ቤት ዘመን የመጀመሪያ ስብሰባ ላይ አሕመድ ሺዴ የምክር ቤቱ አፈ ጉባኤ ሆነው ተመርጠዋል።
Abiy Ahmed, presenting his programme to the new House of Peoples Representatives, said constitutional amendments would be pursued on the basis of the National Dialogue outcomes, promised stronger measures against corruption, theft and discriminatory administrative practices, and pledged a modern defence and security establishment with particular emphasis on regional air superiority. He said Ethiopia would work to secure an outlet to the sea through peaceful engagement and called on armed groups to abandon violence and return to peaceful political engagement. The House also elected Ayelech Eshete, a former state minister of education, as deputy speaker.
The Associated Press and Reuters report that Abiy Ahmed, speaking in parliament shortly after being sworn in on Monday, said Ethiopia would press for an outlet to the sea. "Based on the principle of give and take, we will work diligently to ensure that Ethiopia has an outlet to the sea," AP quoted him as saying, and reported that he described Red Sea access as essential to Ethiopia's civilisation. Reuters quoted him as saying Ethiopia's modernisation cannot be realised without sea access. Reuters said spokespeople for the Prime Minister's office, the Ethiopian National Defence Force and the TPLF did not immediately respond to its requests for comment on the fighting in Tigray.
The Ethiopian News Agency says the House of Peoples' Representatives elected Ayelech Eshete deputy speaker, while the House of Federation elected Muferihat Kamil speaker and Desta Ledamo deputy speaker.
Ethiopia's House of Peoples' Representatives unanimously re-elected Abiy Ahmed as Prime Minister and he took the constitutional oath of office. Fana Broadcasting Corporate said Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh presented the nomination on behalf of the Prosperity Party and that the oath was taken in the presence of President Taye Atske-Selassie. At the same sitting Ahmed Shide was elected Speaker of the House of Peoples' Representatives and Muferihat Kamil Speaker of the House of Federation.
የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት ሰኞ ጥቅምት 5 ቀን ዐቢይ አሕመድን በጠቅላይ ሚኒስትርነት መልሶ መረጠ፤ ዐቢይም ሕገ መንግሥታዊ ቃለ መሐላ በመፈጸም አዲስ የአምስት ዓመት የሥልጣን ዘመን ጀመሩ። ፋና ብሮድካስቲንግ ኮርፖሬት እንዳለው፣ ምርጫው በሙሉ ድምፅ ተፈጽሟል፤ ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ተመስገን ጥሩነህ በብልጽግና ፓርቲ ስም የእጩነት ጥያቄውን አቅርበዋል፤ ቃለ መሐላውም በፕሬዚዳንት ታዬ አጽቀ ሥላሴ ፊት ተፈጽሟል። ምክር ቤቱ አሕመድ ሺዴን አፈ ጉባኤ አድርጎ መርጧል፤ የፌዴሬሽን ምክር ቤት በበኩሉ ሙፈሪሃት ካሚልን አፈ ጉባኤ እና ደስታ ለዳሞን ምክትል አፈ ጉባኤ አድርጎ መርጧል። የኢትዮጵያ ዜና አገልግሎት እንዳለው፣ ስብሰባው ሰኔ 1 ቀን 2026 ከተካሄደው አጠቃላይ ምርጫ በኋላ የሰባተኛው የምክር ቤት ዘመን የመጀመሪያ ጉባኤ ነው። ኤኤፍፒ በቻነልስ ቴሌቪዥን በተላለፈ ዘገባ እንዳለው፣ አዲሱ አፈ ጉባኤ አሕመድ ሺዴ በቴሌቪዥን በተላለፈ ስብሰባ "ዐቢይ አሕመድ የኢትዮጵያ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ሆነው ተሾመዋል" ሲሉ አስታውቀዋል። ዘገባዎቹ በሰሜን ኢትዮጵያ ስለሚካሄደው ጦርነት ዐቢይ ያሉትን አላካተቱም።
